SitePulse
Honest comparison

Looking for an UptimeRobot alternative?

UptimeRobot has been the default uptime monitor for over a decade. SitePulse is newer, smaller, and built for indie devs who want a status page in 60 seconds — not an observability stack. Here's how they actually compare in 2026.

TL;DR

  • Pick UptimeRobot if you need 50 free monitors, global multi-region probes, SMS alerts, or already have it set up and it works.
  • Pick SitePulseif you want a modern UI, a free status page, flat pricing ($9 / $29), and you're happy with email alerts + Tokyo-region checks.
  • Honest gaps in SitePulse today: no SMS, no Slack webhook (yet), single-region probes. All on the roadmap.

Frequently asked questions

Why would I switch from UptimeRobot to SitePulse?+

Mostly DX. UptimeRobot is solid and battle-tested, but the dashboard feels like it hasn't been redesigned in a decade. SitePulse is built on the same modern stack as your apps (Next.js, Tailwind), with a 60-second setup and a status page that doesn't look like 2014. If you've been on UptimeRobot's free plan and want to upgrade, $9 SitePulse Pro and $7 UptimeRobot Solo are roughly equivalent in features — pick the UI you'd rather log into every week.

Is SitePulse cheaper than UptimeRobot?+

Roughly comparable. Free is free on both. Paid plans: SitePulse Pro is $9/mo for 25 monitors at 1-minute intervals. UptimeRobot Solo is ~$7/mo. SitePulse Business is $29/mo for 150 monitors. The pricing models differ — UptimeRobot has more tiers and add-ons (SMS, etc.), SitePulse keeps it flat.

Does SitePulse have a free plan?+

Yes. 5 monitors, 5-minute check interval, email alerts, and a public status page — all free, forever, no credit card. UptimeRobot's free plan gives you more monitors (50) but otherwise comparable features.

Will my UptimeRobot data import?+

Not yet — there's no automated import. Adding monitors takes about 10 seconds each (paste URL, click save). For a typical setup of 5-10 monitors, the migration is faster than reading this answer.

What's missing in SitePulse vs UptimeRobot today?+

Three things, all on the roadmap: (1) SMS/voice alerts — email only today; (2) Slack/Discord/PagerDuty integrations — webhooks coming soon; (3) Multi-region probes — we run from Tokyo only, UptimeRobot has 13+ regions. If any of these are dealbreakers, UptimeRobot is the right call today.

Where do you run the checks from?+

Tokyo (ap-northeast-1). Multi-region voting is on the roadmap to suppress single-network false positives. UptimeRobot probes from many regions worldwide, which catches more types of regional outages.
